Frequently Asked Questions

• You said I can attach it to anything. How big is the sticker?
  1” x 2”. It will have both your individual barcode and your name.
• What’s in it for me?
  In keeping with our theme this year of Community – Accountability – Discipleship, you can create a record of your presence and share it with the church staff.
  
  In addition, if PRESENCE is part of your current discipleship growth focus, you can sign in quickly and easily, and we can provide you with the metrics.
• What will you do with this information?
  We will provide you with a record, for your own use in meeting your goals around PRESENCE.
  
  We do sometimes review our records of attendance when looking for new lay leadership and committee involvement.
  
  We will not share it with anyone else.
• How do I do this, again?
  Stop by the Welcome Center information desk, and put your name on the list of people who want barcodes. The following week, we will have the sticker printed and ready for you, and RUMC key tags that it can be attached to. If you want more than one sticker, just say so!
  
  The system we are using allows you to scan a barcode OR search by last name.
• What if I want a code but am out of town? How do I get a barcode then?
  We will have a “sign up sheet” in the Welcome Center every Sunday. Just stop by the information desk and add your name to the list.

• Does it have to be on a tag on my keys?
  No, the sticker can be put on anything that you are most likely to carry with you to church. Warning – the adhesive is advertised as “permanent”!!
  
  You can also take a PICTURE of the barcode and keep it on your phone, and use that to make a record of your presence.
• I lost my barcode/key tag. How do I get a new one?
  Email RuthH@riverchaseumc.org. We’ll have a new one for you in the Welcome Center the following Sunday.
• My name doesn’t come up on the “manual entry.” Why not? How do I change this?
  It’s probably because your name is not in our system, or you’ve had a change (marriage, divorce, etc.) and we don’t know about it. Contact RuthH@riverchaseumc.org.
  
  Use the Modern Worship QR code, or the Traditional Friendship Pads, or the pew Welcome Cards to make a record of your PRESENCE and we’ll get you added to the database.
• My last name is “Snickerdoodle” – do I have to type the whole thing to use the manual entry option?
  No. You can type as few as 3 or 4 characters and then Search, and the system will bring up all last names that start with those characters. The more characters you type, the fewer results you’ll have to scroll through.
• Can I sign in my whole family at once?
  Yes, if you use the manual entry option, you can select your family last name and then sign in all or just some of the individuals who live at your house.
• Can my kids have barcode stickers?
  Yes. We are not limiting this to full members, so anyone in your household who wants a sticker can have one.
• Do I have to become a partner to get a barcode?
  No. We want to support everyone on their discipleship journey. You will need to be added to our database, which you can do by using the Modern Worship QR code, or the Traditional Friendship Pads, or the pew Welcome Cards, or by contacting RuthH@riverchaseumc.org.
• I have a question you haven’t answered. What now?
