Through scripture, we know that God places emphasis on good physical, mental, and spiritual health, and recreation provides an outlet for us to pursue this goal. Our Recreation Ministry offers many opportunities – for children, youth, and adults -- to engage in sports and fitness activities in pursuit of holistic well-being. In a Christ-centered environment, we Share the Joy of Christ and Christian fellowship while being active and teaching our children the fundamentals of sports.


Riverchase Rebounders Basketball League 2019-20

Each fall, Riverchase's Recreation Ministry puts on a co-ed basketball league for children ages 4k - 5th grade (ages 4-10). Riverchase Rebounders is a faith-based educational league where your child learns the fundamentals of basketball in a nurturing environment. Practices begin mid- November and games are in January and February. Registration is now open for the 2019-20 season.

  • Mondays 5:30 AM: Wake up and Workout, Gym (LaRonda)

    • Free. Full body strength training and cardio workout for all fitness levels

  • Mondays 6:00 PM: Yoga, Room S-37 (Ashley)

    • Cost:  $5 per session. Hatha style Yoga focused on breathing, stretching, strength and flexibility

  • Tuesdays 6:00 PM: Yoga, Narthex (Suzanne)

    • Cost:  $5 per session. This yoga session focusing on breathing, flexibility with strength poses incorporated followed by relaxation

  • Tuesdays 6:30 PM: REFIT Revolution Dance, Fellowship Hall, 6:30PM (Mimi)

    • Cost:  $5 per class. A fun cardio workout powered by human connections and community.  

  • Wednesdays 5:30 AM: Wake Up and Workout, Gym (LaRonda)

    • Free.  Full body strength training and cardio workout for all fitness levels

  • Thursdays 5:00 PM: Pilates Mat Class, Fireside Room (Stephanie)

    • Cost:  $10.  A mind-body fitness class focused on posture, muscle control, core strength, ending in relaxation/prayer. 

  • Thursdays 6:00 PM: Yoga in Riverchase Room A (Karen)

    • Cost:  $5 Yoga session for all levels focused on stretching, building strength and controlled breathing. 

  • Fridays 10:00 AM: Gentle Flow Yoga, Room 37 (Fannie)

    • Vinyasa style yoga focused on slow, gentle movements focusing on breathing and moving with your body, dwelling in God’s presence.  

  • Saturdays 9:00 AM: Yoga, Room 37 (Ashley)

    • Cost:  $5 per session. Hatha style Yoga focused on breathing, stretching, strength and flexibility

 

Running/Walking Groups:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30AM and 6:00PM (LaRonda)
