Music is a vital component of worship and central to the life of Riverchase United Methodist Church. Our Music Ministry seeks to involve people of all ages, interests, and talents, leading congregants to a deeper worship of God. We believe that all the music we present must be of the highest caliber, diligently prepared, and meaningfully presented as one of our highest offerings to God. We recognize the important role music plays in worship, education, and spiritual growth not only for those who present it, but also for those who listen to it.
In the Music Ministry, you will see hard work, you will hear laughter, and you will see smiles; best of all, perhaps, you will see everyday people thrilled at the opportunity to offer their talents to God.
Choirs
Sanctuary Choir
Our Sanctuary Choir is responsible for the music in worship for our 9:30 & 11:00 AM services every week. We enjoy doing a mix of challenging and fun repertoire throughout the year. The choir will provide music with a large professional orchestra at Christmas and perform many anthems with instruments throughout the year. The choir is open to anyone high school age and above, no audition is required! The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM and warms up at 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings. Children’s Choir
Our Children’s Choir is open to 4k-5th grade. They rehearse Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:30 PM (Then other children’s activities until 7:15). The Children’s Choir aids in both Traditional worship and Modern Worship and strives to sing in worship once a month. They will often combine with the Sanctuary choir and with a professional orchestra throughout the year. Newcomers are always welcome! Contact Jessica Kaufhold for more information.
Instrumental
Instrumental Ensemble
9th-grade students to adults who are experienced brass, woodwind, string, and percussion players make up the Riverchase Orchestra. This group performs during select Sunday worship services and special events. Contact Daniel deShazo.
Riverchase Chancel Ringers
This handbell choir is for adult ringers. Some ringing experience is preferred. The ability to read music is required. Contact Jessica Kaufhold.
Riverchase Fine Arts Academy
