Any students who have completed 6th-12th grade may sign up to attend Magic City Work Week.
Magic City Work Week is our yearly mission week, where we partner with organizations in our downtown community, building relationships, doing hard work, and growing in our faith. We have big things lined up for this year’s week, with more work and other experiences planned for our students. We are partnering with Urban Ministries this year. Incredible things happen at Magic City Work Week.
“What is Magic City Work Week?” you ask. Great question. Like Grunt Week, Magic City Work Week will be our mission week, where we partner with organizations in our downtown community, building relationships, doing hard work, and growing in our faith. The major difference from Grunt Week is that we will be partnering with another UMC youth group in the Birmingham area. This Summer, we will work alongside Canterbury UMC so that we can double our impact and share resources. It will feel the same as Grunt Week, but it will feel different in the sense that we will get to meet more people and highlight the connectional nature of what it means to be a United Methodist. Super cool. We have big things lined up for this year’s Magic City Work Week, with more work and other experiences planned for our students. As always, we will be partnering with Urban Ministries and are super excited about all the ways that our students will get to grow in their relationships with others, our neighbors in downtown Birmingham, and with God. So sign up; you won’t want to miss it.
