There are still angels who need sponsors!! Come by the Welcome Center on Sunday and make a selection, or drop off a donation and the shopping can be done for you (just earmark for Angel Tree). There are sweet Jamaican angels we support too with contacts in the area. And lastly, thank you to Units of Birmingham for our FREE storage of gifts this year!.
General Info
Angel Tree assists agencies both locally and internationally during the Christmas season. We serve children at Christian’s Place in Nauvoo and First Light Women’s Shelter. We help adults with the Alabama Department of Public Health and Special Forces for Jesus.
We additionally help with gift cards and toys for Oak Mountain Missions and our Hispanic Ministry.
Our international presence is through Isaiah 6:8 in Jamaica serving a special needs school and indigent elderly at a nursing home.
What’s New This Year
Angel Tree will be online and in-person.
Online: You will sign up with your request for an angel and the angel will be emailed back. Available as of 11/5
In person dates: (tables set up outside narthex and well and volunteers handled by Faith Class). 11/12, 11/19 and 11/26. Dec 3 if necessary (usually just package drop off)
All returning packages must be returned no later than December 4th to be counted and disseminated to the agencies. Packages can be returned just inside the narthex on Sunday mornings and main office during the week. We check weekly to put them into POD storage.
Monetary Donations
We welcome direct donations. Others can do the shopping for you and we will utilize many gift cards this season. Individuals wishing to contribute can use the RUMC website and notate ANGEL TREE on their contribution.
