Sharing the Joy of Christ

Children's Missions

Riverchase UMC Children's Missions Ministry hopes to teach the concept and importance of missions so that each child learns that they can personally become missionaries right in their own backyard!  We aim to enthusiastically involve children in supporting missionaries and mission work with their prayers, interest, financial giving, and service to others.  Read on for ways that you can assist us in these goals.

Mission Baskets

Each month, Children's Missions focuses on a different item and asks that your child bring that item in and put it in the mission baskets located in your child's sunday school classroom.  These items are then taken to Oak Mountain Missions, Christian's Place, King's Home and various other children's charities in need.  Older children will be given the opportunity to visit these charities and volunteer their time to help throughout the year.  Take a look at the calendar below to see this month's focus:

Mission Activities

Children are given the opportunity to participate in periodic mission trips and activities. These are “hands on” experiences with the overall objective of increasing the children’s understanding and awareness of the needs of those in their community and to instill and reinforce in them the church’s  overall mission of “Sharing the Joy of Christ”; so that they may continue to develop a solid Christian foundation and grow in their relationship with God. Here are some upcoming mission opportunities:
