Children, Family and Senior Care

SafeHouse is a full-service domestic violence and sexual assault center that provides emergency shelter and comprehensive support services to victims.

 

Big Oak Ranch offers children the chance to discover themselves in family, work, discipline and a loving Christian environment.

 

The Children's Home offers group homes for children, teens, young mothers and transitional living homes for young adults.  Other services include foster care programs, family support and education, adoption support and spiritual programs.

 

Family Connection offers group homes, emergency shelter options as well as educational opportunities. 

 

My Place provides education to homeless, at-risk, special needs children, and welfare-to-work recipients.

 

The Southwest Center, a facility of the United Community Center project, provides assistance to low income families in the Southwest area of Birmingham. Volunteers are always needed at the youth facility.

 

Visit seniors in nursing homes and elderly shut-ins.

 

Research shows that elderly who are socially active are healthier, more mentally alert and much happier.  Join us as we plan and participate in fellowship featuring social events, trips, and retreats for seniors.
